TWO British schoolboys have made it into the final of an
international online music video contest with their tribute
to Madness.
Ed Vaughan and Dan Scott, both 15, pipped around 100 other
entrants to make it to the final of Google Idol.
The competition, which has nothing to do with the internet
giant Google, shows participants miming and dancing around
to well-known hits.
The GCSE students, from Windsor, Berkshire, are battling
it out against a group from New Zealand performing You Make
Me Feel Like Dancing by Leo Sayer.
The British friends, who call themselves Edaz, are seen
dancing around in their school uniforms to Madness's Baggy
Trousers hit.
Ed, who studies drama with Dan at school, is appealing
for Brits to log on to vote for Edaz.
The New Zealand team had a surge of hits after its video
was featured on local TV.
Ed said: "We have been making music videos like this
for about two years.
"We didn't realise that other people were doing the
same.
"Then we found the site and entered our video. We
got selected out of 100 people.
"Our opposition got on TV in New Zealand so they've
had loads of publicity. Now we're trying to catch up."
You can log on to watch Dan and Ed by clicking here - the
competition ends at 3am on Saturday.
